The action group Virus madness wants to demonstrate again on the Malieveld in The Hague on 1 August. The group is in talks with the community about the conditions for the protest, the municipality of The Hague said.
Virus madness also wanted to demonstrate on the Malieveld on June 21. The community forbade this because too many participants were expected. On the day itself, some demonstrators stood on the Malieveld. The community allowed this for a while. Things became unsettled when troublemakers, including football fans, showed up in the area. The mobile unit carried out several charges. On the day itself, police detained 425 people, and video footage identified and arrested dozens more suspects.
A week later, on June 28, Virus Madness wanted to demonstrate again on the Malieveld, but the community also banned this protest.
