US President Donald Trump does not want to extend the deadline for the sale of the US subsidiary of TikTok by the Chinese company ByteDance. He said this in Washington on Thursday. “It will be closed or they will sell it,” Trump said

TikTok is owned by the Chinese company Bytedance. Trump described the video app as a security risk that Chinese authorities could access the Americans’ data via the app.

After September 15, the film app will be banned in the USA unless an American company has agreed to take over the American part by then. Walmart and Microsoft show interest, among other things.

On Thursday, Bloomberg news agency reported that ByteDance may miss the September 15 deadline. New Chinese regulations have delayed acquisition negotiations.

Now it appears that President Trump has no intention of extending the deadline. “It closes or they sell it,” Trump told reporters before going to Michigan.
