The last Transavia flight landed at Groningen Airport

The last Transavia flight landed at Groningen Airport

The last flight was HV5302 from Heraklion (Crete). This route should be flown until October, but Transavia pulled the plug early due to the orange travel advice. The last flight from Palma de Mallorca landed earlier this month.

Transavia stops flights from Groningen because they are not profitable enough. The corona crisis gave the final boost, but it turned out that the airport’s hinterland is actually too small. As a result, one society after another has to get out.

It will now probably take until December before the holiday flights depart from Groningen again. Then TUI hopes to be able to fly to Gran Canaria (but that can only continue if the travel advice is adjusted) and BBI Travel offers Winter sports flights to Scandinavia.
