The municipality of The Hague will, of course, act when farmers return to The Hague on Friday. We are always prepared for everything, but as far as we know, no demonstration has been registered by farmers, says the spokesman of Mayor Jan van Zanen.
At least 140 farmers are on their way to The Hague with their tractors from the Achterhoek. According to the Farmers Defence Force action group, this was not decided until Thursday evening. It is unclear exactly where the farmers in The Hague want to go. Farmers have been protesting against the government’s nitrogen policy for some time.
The new mayor of The Hague is “on Friday morning in Scheveningen for an introductory visit. We need to know first whether the farmers are actually coming to The Hague, and a demonstration must always be notified in advance.”
