The exchange rate of the euro rose to its highest level since May 2018 on Tuesday morning. The milestone of USD 1.2 was in sight. The European single currency rose briefly to $ 1.1997 before falling again to $ 1.1990.
The euro has been on the rise for some time. After the exchange rate decline in March at the beginning of the corona crisis – the currency fell to USD 1.0636 – the euro has been looking up since mid-May. Over the past few days, the dollar has weakened even after changes in the US central bank’s monetary policy.
