Japanese tech company Sony removed the video game Cyberpunk 2077 from its PlayStation Store worldwide after it was discovered in recent days that the game from Polish game maker CD Projekt is full of bugs. In the meantime, Microsoft’s Xbox gaming service is also expanding its refund policy to ensure a full refund for the game for those who purchased it digitally.
“SIE (Sony Interactive Entertainment) is committed to a high level of customer satisfaction. So we’re starting with refunds and will remove the game from the online shop until further notice, ”writes Sony’s games department on the American and Australian websites, among others.

The game was released last Thursday and is the company’s first major title since 2015’s The Witcher 3: Wild Hunt. The game doesn’t work well on previous generation consoles due to all sorts of bugs and technical issues. Financial news agency Bloomberg reports that analysts say the opinions of gamers on the older consoles (like Playstation 4 and Xbox One) could be critical to CD Projekt’s sales.
In the meantime, Xbox has also expanded its refund policy. Those who purchased the game digitally from the Microsoft Store can also request a full refund. “While we know that the developers at CD Projekt RED worked hard to bring Cyberpunk 2077 out under extremely difficult circumstances, we also find that some gamers are unhappy with the current experience with older consoles,” said Xbox Support on Twitter .
The Polish game studio apologized to customers on social media on Monday. The developer said that more attention should be paid to making it more playable on the Playstation 4 and Xbox One.
