The increase in Covid-19 infections does not yet lead to a major regression in the intensive care unit. However, there are a few more admissions to other hospital wards.
This is shown by figures from the National Coordination Centre for Patient Distribution (LCPS). Hospitals will have 18 Covid-19 patients on Saturday, one more than on Friday.
In addition, 596 more patients are in intensive care, four more than a day earlier. The number of hospital admissions related to Covid-19 outside the intensive care unit is 91; that’s 17 more than a day earlier.
National Acute Care Network chairman Ernst Kuipers says it is important to curb the growing spread of the virus. “The reassuring news is that the current number is not likely to lead to a sharp increase in hospital admissions in the short term,” Kuipers said.
