Schiphol carried 93 percent fewer passengers in June

The flow of passengers at Schiphol Airport almost dried up in June. Last month, 471,852 travelers travelled to and from the airport. This is 93 percent more than in the same month last year. At that time, 6.5 million passengers were lost in June.

In May, there was a 97% decrease compared to the previous year. The number of flight movements this month was 5878. Last month, the number of flight movements was 8118. That’s down 81 percent from the same month last year.

The number of cargo flights increased by 1368 to a total of 2473. In particular, more cargo flights were operated to and from North America.

Schiphol expects the total number of flights to continue to rise in July. The airport expects 55,000 to 70,000 passengers and about 600 flights per day by the end of the month.
