Police back on the streets in Duindorp, The Hague | inland

In the last few days, a group of young people has caused trouble, especially in the area around Tesselseplein and Pluvierstraat. Friday evening the mobile unit had to be involved. The police tried to use traffic controls to keep people who did not have to be in Duindorp outside on Friday evening. For a moment it got restless again when fireworks and stones were thrown at the police. A bus shelter was also destroyed. After the action of the mobile unit, it became quiet around midnight. No arrests were made.

On Wednesday evening, some young people lit a fire and the windows of an HTM bus were broken. The following evening, containers were set on fire and bottles were thrown at two police vehicles. Last year in particular, there was a lot of nuisance in Duindorp, which is close to the beach and the port of Scheveningen. After the community did not give permission for the traditional bonfires, it was very restless for days and there was a lot of aggression and violence.
