The Ministry of the Interior and the unions have agreed a new collective agreement. The 120,000 civil servants receive an additional 0.7 percent wage, a one-off payment of 225 euros, and the civil servants who work from home receive a one-off allowance for the period from mid-March to the end of the year.
The ministry announced this on Monday. The home work allowance is paid out of the money that is not spent on travel expenses.
“Employers and unions want to work together to study how civil servants can work at home and in the office after the crisis,” the ministry added.
This affects the collective agreement for the second half of the year, about which discussions had previously stalled. A spokesman for the CNV union says the collective agreement is short-term due to the uncertainties surrounding the corona. “After January 1st, we’ll keep looking.”
CNV Overheid sends the result of the negotiations with positive advice to the members.
