Several streets have already been declared a prohibited area for motorcycles this year, as residents, cyclists and hikers say that they are disturbed by the noise and dangerous driving behavior. The motorcyclists believe that they are disadvantaged by drivers who are allowed to drive on the levees.
During this “Free Roads Tour”, the participants moved in groups on Sunday so as not to bother other road users. On the way they saw the necessary thumbs up and people on the highway waved to us, said Igor Alveringh, organizer of this “Tour for Free Roads”. He thinks the day is “great”. The trip went to The Hague to send a signal to the politicians. A petition on the matter will be presented in November, Alveringh reports.
The protest trip was supposed to take place in early August, but was postponed due to extreme heat. On the day of the planned motorized demonstration, the mercury rose to 35 degrees.
