ING continues to reimburse spoofing victims

Customers who have registered with ING will be contacted as soon as possible. The bank explains that they do not have to contact them themselves. According to ING, billing and actual payment will “take some time”: “We are doing our best to complete this by mid-February 2021 at the latest.”

The bank is not responsible for criminals who steal money from consumers through phone fraud, but now feels responsible because ING’s name or phone number has been misused. “In this fraud, criminals abuse the trust that customers have in their bank,” said ING.
