The American technology giant Google is expanding its Belgian data center in Saint-Ghislain (Mons) in Hainaut for the fourth time. This is what De Tijd writes. The investment of 400 to 600 million euros is on top of the 1.6 billion euros that the giant has pumped into the heart of the Borinage over the past ten years.
The plans, the layout and all technical details have been validated. The work, which will begin in the coming weeks, is expected to be completed in 2022. The extra battery of servers is needed to keep up with the explosive growth in the use of mobile apps and cloud services.
