Doesn’t a lot of money mean you can sit back and retire? At least not for 1 in 5. You are busy keeping that money: you work at the top or you have your own company. For example, they see it as a major disadvantage not to have free time. Every third respondent would like to spend more time with friends and family.
Van Lanschot also looked at the differences between wealthy people under the age of 45 compared to the older generation. For example, the younger people are, the more often a lot of money is at the expense of friendships.
According to the researchers, you are rich if you are over 45 years old and have investable capital of at least € 500,000, or if you are under 45 and have investable capital of at least € 250,000. The survey was conducted among 500 wealthy people.
