Researchers found a leak in the widely used office software Microsoft Office, known from Word and Excel, last month. This allows hackers to execute malicious code. This is reported by the cyber security company Mimecast. He recommends an update to help the Euvel.

Mimecast speaks of a “very serious vulnerability” caused by a programming error in the Microsoft Office component that allows users to create 3D diagrams. Hackers can exploit this leak by tricking people on a Website or in an email to access a Word or other Office program document.

Microsoft confirms on its website that Mimecast has found a leak that can be closed by updating Microsoft Office. The vulnerability was found in both the Windows and Mac versions. Microsoft has not yet released an update for the 2016 and 2019 Office program versions for Mac.
