Corendon will not be holidaying in Turkey until August 12, the travel company reports. Every week, the company checks whether it can fly back to Turkey. This will not happen until the travel advice has been changed from “orange” to “yellow”.
Corendon was originally scheduled to travel to Turkey on July 10. Dutch Prime Minister Mark Rutte called it “unwise and irresponsible.” The State Department’s “orange” travel advice means vacations are not recommended. Due to the corona outbreak, the vast majority of the world map is currently orange.
Corendon held talks with the government on the situation earlier this month, including with Minister Cora van Nieuwenhuizen (Infrastructure and Water Management). The travel company says it is still in consultation with the government but would not comment on the content of the talks.
