Commission: "Environmental plans for Schiphol are not concrete enough"

The Cabinet’s plans for Schiphol’s growth are not concrete enough to assess the environmental impact. This is proposed by the Commission for Environmental Impact Assessment (E.M.) in a Opinion into the cupboard.

There is nothing to say about the environmental impact of the plans for Schiphol, the committee says, because the cabinet has “no concrete targets.” A target has been set for the REDUCTION of CO2, but not in terms of air quality, noise or nature conservation.

The Committee advises Minister Van Nieuwenhuizen (Infrastructure) to set concrete targets and clear environmental boundaries before taking new decisions for the Dutch aviation sector.
