CEO Just Eat Takeaway: Intention To Stop Freelancers | NOW

Jitse Groen, CEO of the food delivery company Just Eat Takeaway, intends to stop working with the self-employed. The Dutch internet entrepreneur said that on Friday BBC.

The CEO prefers to work with paid drivers. For example, they are better insured, receive vacation pay and receive a pension.

Groen said it is important that a large company like Just Eat Takeaway has the right staffing conditions. According to the Dutch businessman, this also includes more certainties.

Just Eat Takeaway is, among other things, the parent company of Thuisbezorgd.nl.

He admits that many delivery drivers faced tougher working conditions during the corona crisis.

During the Corona crisis, the number of orders from food suppliers such as Just Eat Takeway increased significantly. In the first six months of this year, the company processed 23 million orders in the Netherlands. That was 24 percent more than in the same period last year.
