Catering establishments in Randstad have to close earlier. Stricter measures were taken on Sunday at 6 p.m. to contain the spread of the coronavirus. After midnight, catering companies were no longer allowed to admit new guests and an hour later (at 1 a.m.) they had to close.
The number of infections is increasing particularly in Randstad, especially in the student age category. The cabinet therefore announced on Friday that catering businesses in the regions around Amsterdam, Rotterdam, The Hague, Leiden, Haarlem and Utrecht will have to close their doors on Sunday at midnight.
The measures apply to the security regions of Amsterdam-Amstelland, Rotterdam-Rijnmond, Haaglanden, Utrecht, Kennemerland and Hollands-Midden. The number of coronavirus infections has increased rapidly in these six risk areas. So fast that they are now considered “worrying”, the second highest alarm phase.
