American aircraft manufacturer Boeing has tried to withhold important information that may have led to the crash of two Boeing 737 MAX aircraft. A committee of the Senate of the US Parliament came to this conclusion.
During the 737 MAX re-approval process, Boeing improperly influenced the test pilots, the committee concluded. For the same reasons, the Senators are also beating the US government’s civil aviation organization, the Federal Aviation Administration (FAA).
The FAA recently ended the flight ban on the 737 MAX. The organization regards the aircraft as safe again, including adjustments to the software and additional training for the pilots. After the disasters with the 737 MAX near Indonesia in 2018 and in Ethiopia last year, the device had to remain on the ground for a year and a half for safety reasons.
