De Bijenkorf in Amsterdam will reopen on Saturday 22nd August with a replacement team of employees. The company did that on Friday announced. Earlier this week, the store had to close for a maximum of ten days because several employees had tested positive for COVID-19 in the past few weeks.
Not all shop-in-shops in Bijenkorf will be open until Saturday, August 29th. Catering and cosmetic services such as appointments for personal styling and touch-ups are also currently not available. The store also uses adjusted opening times.
Since the mandatory closure, all employees who worked in the store between August 8 and 18 have been quarantined for ten days as a precaution. Customers who visited the Bijenkorf in Amsterdam during this time and had complaints were also recommended to get tested.
Since the shutdown, the company has said it has worked hard to reopen the business as safely as possible, including putting together a replacement team. The building was also completely and thoroughly cleaned.
“We have been in close contact with the Amsterdam-Amstelland security region over the past few days and are pleased to announce that our store may reopen,” the company reported on Friday.
“We appeal to everyone to observe the safety guidelines and to stay at home if they have health problems. The health and safety of our customers and employees remains our top priority.”
