All departments of the Huis ter Wijck nursing home in Beverwijk are temporarily quarantined after a temporary worker has tested positive for the corona virus. Viva Zorggroep, which also includes the center, announced this on Saturday.
The agency worker, who worked in several departments, had complaints and had been tested on Covid-19 at the request of the care group and proved positive. “With all the knowledge and experience gained and as a precautionary measure to protect everyone as much as possible, we now know that it is temporarily necessary to allow visitors who are limited and invest in protective equipment,” said Viva.
Viva regrets the situation of its residents, their relatives and all employees and does everything possible to keep the quarantine as short as possible. All residents, carers, staff and volunteers will be tested this weekend. According to Viva, it is easy to find out who was in contact with whom in Huis ter Wijck.
“The GGD is of course closely involved and together with them we closely follow the developments. All the necessary protocols are ready and there is plenty of protective material for everyone. We are very proud of the commitment and dedication of the employees in Huis ter Wijck and the quick measures that have been taken. Everyone is aware of the steps to be taken and was well prepared for any new suspect rounds related to Covid-19, ”said the care group.
