Amazon has removed 20,000 paid five-star reviews, reports the British business newspaper Financial Times Friday.
Users are said to have written thousands of five-star reviews of products on Amazon for a fee.
Many of these products are said to come from China and often from unknown manufacturers.
According to the Financial Times In many cases, these are popular UK reviewers.
Amazon was also on the news in Europe in August following an investigation by the German antitrust watchdog. The American web shop giant would disrupt partner companies’ pricing policy.
