Police arrested around eighty people on Thursday evening during a demonstration against the corona measures on Het Plein in The Hague. The rally was not announced, the police said. Agents asked activists to leave. For failing to do so, they were arrested and taken to a police station. According to the police, the arrests were calm.
On Wednesday evening, the agents also arrested twelve people demonstrating in the square near the House of Commons. The previous evening, on the orders of Mayor Jan van Zanen, a demonstration against the corona law was broken up. The participants then still left Het Plein, but returned around 9 p.m. according to the police.
There was also no request for a demonstration in the square on Wednesday.
